Happy Thoughts

"Think positive."

That sentence has ever been present in human society and culture. It has even been the core point of many a pre-modern [i think i'm inventing something here XD], modern, and post-modern philosophical passing fads. It has ever been the ideals of people, only changing in name and in som points to fit generation to generation, culture to culture, and individual to individual.

During the innumerable and inevitable problems we face in life, it's sure to happen that some person or another would be telling you "not to worry and to look on the bright side, that every cloud has a silver lining".

And wouldn't it be easier to just look on the bright side and completly forget the darkness that lies just inches from our skin? Think positive. Well, we have to; otherwise we'll become depressed disillusioned cynical paranoid beings - and fun as that might be, nobody really wants to be miserable for too long. Think positive. It helps maintain some sense of sanity.

Thinking positive is as easy as hell. It's not at all hard to realize all the good things in life. But actually believing in them, actually feeling good and believing that something is good, now that's the hard part. That's where the toil and th trouble and the struggle begins.
